Waist circumference


The waist circumference can be a important measurement to evaluate the risk to get ill on the consequences for being over weight.

A study from 1995 has tested 904 men and 1014 women. There was taken values like Body Mass Index and the Waist-hip-ratio.

The result: A waist circumference greater or same as 94 cm at men or 80 cm at women means to 95% a high BMI or a bad waist-hip-ratio. This means, this persons have a higher risk.
